Betting odds can be displayed in different formats depending on the bookmaker and region. The value behind them is the same: each format describes the potential return and the implied probability of an outcome.
Decimal odds show the total return for each unit staked, including your original stake. For example, decimal odds of 2.50 return 2.50 for every 1.00 staked if the bet wins.
Fractional odds are commonly used in the UK and Ireland. Odds of 3/2 mean a potential profit of 3 units for every 2 units staked, with the original stake returned separately.
Positive American odds show the potential profit from a 100-unit stake. Negative odds show how much must be staked to make a 100-unit profit.
Implied probability converts the odds into a percentage. It represents the probability suggested by the price before accounting for the bookmaker margin.
