Stade Brest vs Strasbourg Alsace 13 May 2026 Prediction
The postponed match against Brest once helped Strasbourg get past Mainz (0-2, 4-0) and reach the Conference League semifinals. Now the teams have to make up the rescheduled Ligue 1 Matchday 29 fixture.
The match does not have major table significance. Neither club was seriously worried about relegation, but neither managed to stay in the European race either. Can the teams still find enough motivation and energy to play at a high level?
Home Brest Are Much More Dangerous Than Away Brest
Brest have not had many Ligue 1 wins lately. Eric Roy’s team have taken only two points from their last seven league matches. However, five of those games were away from home, and in four of them, Brest faced teams from the top seven.
At home, the Breton side look much stronger. Roy’s team have won six of their last nine matches at Stade Francis-Le Ble. In April, Brest did not give their fans home wins, but they still caused major problems for Rennes (3-4) and Lens (3-3).
Strasbourg Have Struggled Late in the Season
Late in the season, Strasbourg’s management clearly pushed Ligue 1 into the background in an attempt to win at least one trophy. They managed to postpone the Brest match, but against Rennes (0-3), Lorient (3-2), and Toulouse (1-2), they had to use a heavily rotated squad. Even that rotation did not help the Alsatians enter their key matches in good physical condition.
The cup loss to Nice (0-2) can still be explained partly by poor finishing, as Strasbourg created plenty of chances. But in the Conference League tie against Rayo Vallecano (0-1, 0-1), Gary O’Neil’s team were clearly outplayed, largely because of poor fitness. A recent 1-1 draw with Angers in Ligue 1 then ended Strasbourg’s chances of qualifying for Europe again.

Stats and Trends
- At least nine corners have been taken in 18 of Strasbourg’s 32 matches. The same has happened in 19 of Brest’s 32 matches. Over 8.5 total corners is worth considering.
- In Brest’s home matches, referees average 3.8 yellow cards. Strasbourg’s away matches average 4.1 yellow cards. Over 3.5 total yellow cards looks likely.
Brest vs Strasbourg Prediction: Brest to Win at 2.78
- Main Pick: Strasbourg look worn down late in the season. Despite strengthening the squad, especially in the summer, they did not have enough depth. Once their attacking leaders, especially top scorer Joaquin Panichelli, were injured, the visitors became far less effective going forward. Strasbourg were also not ready to compete on three fronts and ended up without a trophy or a European place. Brest, meanwhile, had only Ligue 1 to focus on and do not have the same injury-related problems. Roy’s team are always dangerous at home, and Brest have also won four of the last six head-to-head meetings, with two draws. The recommended play is Brest to win at 2.78.
- Total Pick: Brest’s recent home matches have been very entertaining: 3-4 against Rennes and 3-3 against Lens. Strasbourg are not a defensive team either, with at least three goals scored in five of their last six Ligue 1 matches. The same total was reached in three of the last four head-to-head meetings. That makes over 2.5 goals at 1.77 a strong option.
- Correct Score Pick: Brest have scored at least two goals in three of the last four head-to-head meetings. Strasbourg have also scored at Stade Francis-Le Ble in every meeting since 2020. However, their current physical condition makes it difficult to expect more than one goal from them. The correct score pick is 2-1 to Brest at 10.00.
