Alex Pereira vs Ciryl Gane 15 June 2026 Prediction
The co-main event of the long-awaited White House card will not feature any American fighters. France’s Ciryl Gane, who has already held an interim UFC title, will face Brazil’s Alex Pereira for the interim UFC heavyweight belt. Pereira has a chance to become the first fighter in promotional history to win championships in three divisions.
Fernand Lopez’s fighter has never lost a professional bout that stayed purely in the striking phase. This time, however, he will face arguably the best kickboxer currently on the UFC roster.
Alex Pereira
Alex Pereira is making history. The Brazilian has had only 12 UFC fights, but he has already won titles at middleweight and light heavyweight, and now he is chasing a third belt. In his previous fight, Poatan settled the final question at 205 pounds by confidently avenging his loss to Magomed Ankalaev and finishing the Russian in the first round. That again showed his elite ability to adapt and find openings against top-level opponents.
Stylistically, Pereira is an attacking kickboxer who is used to leading the exchanges. His trademark weapon is a powerful left hook, which he can throw with almost no windup even at short range. His calf kicks are also a major weapon, as they can quickly damage an opponent’s lead leg. Speed and footwork are not the Brazilian’s strongest areas, and Gane should have the edge there.
Titles: former UFC middleweight champion (2022-23, no defenses) and light heavyweight champion (2023-25, three defenses; 2025-26, no defenses)
Ciryl Gane
Ciryl Gane’s career has often followed a clear pattern: dominant wins followed by painful setbacks when he gets close to the undisputed belt. In title fights, Bon Gamin first lost to Francis Ngannou, then to Jon Jones, who moved up from light heavyweight. Even his most recent title fight against Tom Aspinall, which started well for the Frenchman, ended as a no contest because of an eye poke, and the British fighter has still not fully recovered.
Gane is the most mobile and fluid heavyweight on the UFC roster. He fights like a classic distance striker: he constantly bounces in and out, switches stances, and attacks from long range with quick jabs and front kicks. The Frenchman rarely stays in front of opponents for long, which helps him absorb very little damage. However, Ciryl has clear issues with grappling defense, and his striking attacks sometimes lack the knockout power typical of many other heavyweights.
Titles: former interim UFC heavyweight champion (2021-22, no defenses)
Notable Fights
Alex Pereira: has beaten top opponents across two weight classes. His list of wins includes Sean Strickland, Israel Adesanya in their first MMA fight, Jan Blachowicz, Jiří Procházka twice, Jamahal Hill, Khalil Rountree, and Magomed Ankalaev in the rematch.
Ciryl Gane: has wins over Alexander Volkov, who is ranked No. 2 at heavyweight, Sergey Spivak (No. 6), and Derrick Lewis (No. 9).
Stats and Trends
- Both fighters prefer to settle matters on the feet. Pereira has a unique significant-strike accuracy rate for the UFC, landing 62% of his significant strikes. Ciryl Gane, meanwhile, absorbs only 2.33 strikes per minute and has a 60% defensive rate. However, the Brazilian’s finishing power is much higher: 80% of his UFC wins have come by knockout, compared to just 40% for Bon Gamin.
- That said, three of the former interim heavyweight champion’s last four fights also ended inside the distance. For that reason, the fight not to go the distance is worth considering.
Pereira vs Gane Prediction: Pereira to Win at 1.88
Extra weight is unlikely to affect Alex Pereira too much. Even in lower weight classes, the Brazilian was never defined by speed or elite footwork. His main strength remains the ability to end the fight with one clean shot.
Experience looks like the key factor in this matchup. Ciryl Gane has been in the UFC longer, but he has still never become undisputed champion, while Poatan won two belts in a short period. The Brazilian also knows how to deal with fighters who have some stylistic similarities to Gane. His fights with Israel Adesanya are the best example: four meetings across kickboxing and MMA, three of which Pereira won. Alex is capable of taking away the space Gane needs and forcing him toward the fence, where Ciryl will have a much harder time defending against the signature left hook. The pick is Pereira to win at 1.88.
