Galatasaray Istanbul vs Stuttgart 3 November 2026 Prediction
Galatasaray picked up their first Champions League points with a 4-2 win at Lille after losing their opening two matches. Next they host Stuttgart, looking to build on that result.
Galatasaray: Attack Improving, Defense Still Vulnerable
Galatasaray lead the Turkish league with eight wins in 10 matches. The Champions League has been tougher: they lost to Sporting 3-1 and Barcelona 4-1 before beating Lille 4-2. The scoreline in France did not tell the whole story. Lille created more chances, leading 2.08 to 1.40 in expected goals (xG), but Galatasaray finished theirs more effectively. They have now conceded nine goals in three Champions League matches.
Manager Okan Buruk has plenty of attacking options. Osimhen has scored three times in the last two league rounds, Leão is finding form, and Batrakov has made a quick start in Istanbul. The Russian scored against Barcelona and Lille in the Champions League, then had a goal and an assist in the 4-0 win over Konyaspor last weekend. He has three goals and three assists in 11 appearances since arriving from Lokomotiv in August. Galatasaray have no major absences.
Stuttgart: Stronger in Europe Than in the Bundesliga
Stuttgart have lost five of their eight Bundesliga matches but remain unbeaten in the Champions League. They have seven points from games against Viking (3-1), Slovan (3-0) and Atlético (1-1). Their underlying numbers have also been solid: none of those opponents reached 1.0 xG, while Stuttgart posted the higher xG total in all three games. There is some context, though. Viking and Slovan were weaker opposition, and Atlético played roughly half an hour with 10 men.
Stuttgart will be without Stiller for the trip to Istanbul. He has an adductor injury, leaving manager Sebastian Hoeneß without a key player in buildup and in playing through pressure. Karazor offers defensive strength in midfield but is less effective on the ball. Undav and El Khannouss may need to drop deeper to help move possession forward. Injuries to Vagnoman and Sauer also limit Stuttgart’s options out wide. They still have attacking quality, but Stiller’s absence could disrupt their usual passing game.

Manager: Sebastian Hoeneß
Referee: Chris Kavanagh
The English referee has handled 54 matches across all competitions over the past two seasons, averaging 23.2 fouls and 4.4 yellow cards per game. In six Champions League matches during that period, his averages were 24.3 fouls and 2.7 yellow cards.
Galatasaray vs Stuttgart Prediction: Galatasaray to Win at 2.18
Main prediction: Galatasaray have won four of their six home matches in all competitions this season, including a 2-1 derby victory over Fenerbahçe. Stuttgart’s unbeaten Champions League record is less convincing when weighed against their five Bundesliga defeats in eight games and the level of their European opponents. Their recent 4-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen was encouraging, but they will be without Stiller in Istanbul. Our pick: Galatasaray to win at 2.18.
Goals prediction: All three of Galatasaray’s Champions League matches have featured at least four goals. They have scored 12 times in six home games across all competitions, while Stuttgart have scored in seven of their eight away matches. Galatasaray have also conceded nine goals in Europe. The additional pick is over 3.5 goals at 2.10.
