Sorana Cirstea vs Emma Raducanu 12 June 2026 Prediction
Cirstea and Raducanu have met twice at different tournaments, but their only grass-court meeting went to the British player. Emma beat the Romanian at Wimbledon in 2021 (6:3, 7:5). Can Sorana get revenge?
Surface Speed: 8/10
Cirstea
Strong results in 2026 have helped the Romanian break into the top 20. She is currently ranked No. 18, and it is almost a shame that this season is the last of Sorana’s career. This calendar year, she has won 32 of her 41 matches.
In 2025, Cirstea won nearly 75% of her service games. Even the clay-court stretch did not hurt her much, although holding serve is usually harder on that surface. The Romanian has also been strong on second-serve returns, winning around 58% of those points.
Over the last two years, Sorana had not won a single match on grass. She has also never gone beyond the third round at Wimbledon. That makes her opening win in London an important result, as it ended a poor run on this surface.
Raducanu
The 23-year-old British player has played only 17 matches this season. A foot injury, which has bothered Emma since the offseason, is the main reason. The home player is currently ranked No. 42.
Raducanu’s grass-court numbers are fairly solid. Over her career, Emma has won about 7 of every 10 service games and nearly 5 of every 10 return games on this surface. Those are strong figures.
Historically, Raducanu has performed well on grass. Since 2024, she has won 13 of 19 matches on this surface. Emma has also reached the fourth round of Wimbledon twice, most recently in 2024.
Tournament Progress
- In her first-round match against Australia’s Inglis in London, Sorana needed a deciding set but still won (6:4, 5:7, 6:2). The Romanian lost serve four times, but she was strong on return, breaking her opponent six times.
- Raducanu beat Blinkova more easily than expected (6:0, 6:3). Even in such a comfortable match, the British player still dropped serve twice. In other areas, Emma was clearly dominant, winning 72% of first-serve points and 60% on second serve.
Sorana Cirstea vs Emma Raducanu Prediction: Cirstea to Win
- Main Prediction: Cirstea has finally earned her first grass-court win in three years, and that result should give her confidence. Sorana now needs to focus on each individual match to extend the final grass-court stretch of her career. Raducanu looked convincing against Blinkova, but it is difficult to judge the British player too strongly when her opponent won only 30% of first-serve points because of her own mistakes. Cirstea is unlikely to allow that, which means Emma should not get many break-point chances. In a longer match, Raducanu’s physical condition may also become an issue. We are backing Cirstea to win at 1.77.
- Total Prediction: In February, Cirstea beat Raducanu indoors in 64 minutes (6:0, 6:2), but the world No. 18 should not expect the same type of match here. Her level drops on grass, as she is not especially comfortable on fast courts. Historically, Cirstea has often played three-set matches on natural grass in England, with three of her last five matches on the surface going the distance. As for the British player, she has won at least one set in 8 of her last 10 matches. We are taking over 21.5 games at 1.74.
