Sevilla vs Valencia 11 September 2026 Prediction

Gevorg Danielyan   Prediction by   Gevorg Danielyan     September 9, 2026

La Liga Matchday 5 begins at Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium. Sevilla has made the better start to the season, collecting seven points compared to Valencia’s one. However, the hosts are winless in their last four home meetings with Valencia. Luis García’s team will look to stay near the top of the standings and end that run.

Sevilla Has Started Better Than Expected

Sevilla opened the season with wins over Rayo Vallecano (2-1) and Athletic Club (3-1). Their form then dipped with a 3-1 loss to Atlético Madrid and a 1-1 draw against Espanyol. Those results did not fully reflect Sevilla’s performances. They created plenty of chances against Atlético, while a red card for Sangante did not stop them from scoring first against Espanyol. The equalizer came in the 98th minute. Based on their performances, Sevilla could have collected more than seven points.

The team’s main weakness is clear: Sevilla has conceded in all four league games. Luis García has acknowledged that his players need to be more aggressive without the ball and defend more reliably. There are more options in attack, though. Lucas Stassin, who joined on loan from Saint-Étienne, scored shortly after coming off the bench on his debut against Espanyol and could now receive more playing time.

After the transfer window closed, García said he was satisfied with the roster. He set a cautious target of avoiding a relegation battle, but Sevilla’s start has exceeded those expectations. The hosts will be without the suspended Sangante, while Vargas continues to recover from an inflamed meniscus.

Valencia Is Dealing With Multiple Injuries

Carlos Corberán’s team has one point after four games, with one goal scored and nine conceded. A scoreless draw against Celta Vigo was followed by three defeats, including a 5-0 home loss to Barcelona. The results are only part of the problem. Valencia has created little sustained attacking threat, while poor finishing has further limited its output. The team also has one of the league’s weakest defenses.

Corberán acknowledged that Barcelona was the better team and said Valencia was “hurt but not broken.” He also stressed the need for an immediate improvement. His position has come under scrutiny after the poor start. The club has not issued a formal ultimatum, but Spanish media reports suggest the next three games could determine Corberán’s future.

Injuries are another major concern. Sadiq is still recovering from a hamstring injury, while Diakhaby was hurt against Barcelona, further reducing Valencia’s options at center back. Several other regulars from last season are also unavailable. Corberán has limited depth, with absences affecting almost every area of the roster.

Sevilla vs Valencia Predicted Lineup

Sevilla (4-2-3-1): Vlachodimos; Iglesias, Castrín, Salas, Suazo; Kochorashvili, Agoumé; Sierra, Guridi, Ejuke; Yur

Out: Vargas, Marcão (injured); Sangante (suspended)

Manager: Luis García

Valencia (5-4-1): Dimitrievski; Maffeo, A. Martínez, Tárrega, Pepelu, Vázquez; Otorbi, Ugrinic, Dieng, Guerra; Danjuma

Out: Sadiq, D. López, Canós, Rioja, Foulquier, Copete, Diakhaby (injured); de Haas, G. Rodríguez (doubtful)

Manager: Carlos Corberán

Sevilla vs Valencia Prediction: Sevilla to Win at 2.16

Main prediction: Sevilla is the favorite, particularly at home. The team beat Rayo Vallecano 2-1 at Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán and created several good chances in the 3-1 loss to Atlético Madrid. Valencia has played only one away game so far, losing 3-1 to Deportivo. Its injury problems also leave Corberán with few options from the bench. Against a struggling opponent, the pick is Sevilla to win at 2.16.

Goals prediction: Sevilla has scored and conceded in all four La Liga games this season. Valencia’s defense has also struggled, allowing nine goals in four matches. Both teams scored in four of the last five meetings at Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán. Given the defensive issues on both sides, the pick is both teams to score at 2.05.
