Inter Is Unbeaten in Preseason

Simone Inzaghi's unexpected departure did not lead to a decline. One of Inter's biggest preseason surprises has been Andy Diouf's strong play in an unfamiliar right wing-back role. The Frenchman still has work to do defensively, but his attacking contribution has already been comparable to that of Denzel Dumfries, who left for Real Madrid. Diouf scored twice against Karlsruher and added another goal against Juventus.

Inter added two experienced players this summer, Ivan Provedel from Lazio and John Stones from Manchester City, as well as midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic from Club Brugge. Of the three, Stones has the best chance of immediately becoming a regular starter. Real Betis finished fifth in La Liga last season and earned a Champions League place through the additional qualification spot, marking the club's return to Europe's top competition for the first time since 2005.
