Bouzkova

The 27-year-old Czech player is ranked No. 28. Marie is close to matching her career high of No. 24. Bouzkova had a poor hard-court stretch this season (6-9), but made up for it on clay (9-4), winning the WTA 250 title in Bogota.

Bouzkova is an all-around player with a strong technical skill set, which helps compensate for her lack of raw power. Marie defends well, is steady from the baseline, and can turn defense into effective counterattacks.

Bouzkova has not been as successful on grass as she has been on hard courts and clay. In each of the last two seasons, Marie had a losing record on this surface. Her career grass-court record is also modest at 23-21. Her best result on grass was a Wimbledon quarterfinal run in 2022.

Vekic

Donna turns 30 at the end of June. Last season brought the Croatian her biggest drop since 2017, as Vekic fell from the top 20 to the lower part of the top 70. In 2026, Donna even dropped out of the top 100, but a semifinal run at the WTA 500 clay event in Linz helped her return. She is now ranked No. 76.

Vekic prefers faster courts, but in recent years she has improved significantly on clay, becoming a more complete player. Her silver medal at the Paris Olympics is a good example of that progress.

Vekic has said that hard court is her favorite surface, but her best career record is currently on grass (59-40). In 2017, Donna won the WTA 250 event in Nottingham, and in 2024 she reached the Wimbledon semifinals.
