Manchester United will be the first major European club to visit Como in the Champions League, giving Cesc Fabregas’ side an opportunity to secure a notable home win. The three-time European champions have lost three and drawn one of their last four away matches in the competition.

Consistent Como

Competing on multiple fronts and playing regular midweek fixtures is a new challenge for Como, but the Lombardy club has handled the schedule well. Main prediction: Manchester United enters this game against the Champions League newcomer as the underdog, and its recent form justifies that status. The three-week international break did not help Carrick’s team. United has since produced three poor performances and failed to reach 1.0 expected goals in any of them. The Red Devils have also gone without an away win in competitive play since May. They now face an in-form Como side that has been particularly effective at home.
