Levante UD vs Real Betis 29 August 2026 Prediction

John Rowland   Prediction by   John Rowland     August 27, 2026

The teams enter Matchday 3 with contrasting records. Levante has yet to score in La Liga, while Betis has not conceded. After a heavy opening-round defeat, the hosts improved defensively in a 0-0 draw with Osasuna. Betis, meanwhile, took all six points from its first two games. The visitors must now contend with a demanding schedule, as this match comes just four days after their trip to Valencia.

Levante Still Searching for First Goal

Luis Castro’s team had a solid preseason, winning four of six matches. Its best performance came in the final friendly, a 3-1 victory over Castellon. Levante has not carried that attacking form into the league. It created almost nothing in a 3-0 loss to Espanyol on Matchday 1 and failed to produce a clear scoring chance. The team was much more organized in the following 0-0 draw with Osasuna, but its problems in the final third remained. Levante has registered only one shot on target through two games. The coaching staff quickly stabilized the defense, but the team now needs to create and convert more chances.

Levante was encouraged by the response against Osasuna following its poor start. Luis Castro highlighted the team’s progress and said he saw the playing identity he wants to establish. However, the main issue remains: Levante has not scored in two matches. The club is still looking to strengthen its attack and is considering former Betis forward Cedric Bakambu. Until a new player arrives, Levante must find solutions within the current squad. Its next opponent has been excellent defensively, with Betis yet to concede in the league.

Betis Remains Perfect in Defense

Betis also had a strong preseason, winning five of eight matches, including a 3-1 victory over Arsenal. The team has made a perfect start to the league campaign, beating Real Sociedad and Valencia by identical 1-0 scores. Both games followed a similar pattern: even contests with few chances and a winning goal in the second half. Manuel Pellegrini’s pragmatic approach continues to produce results. The defense has been particularly impressive, allowing no goals through two rounds. However, Betis’ six points slightly overstate the quality of its performances. The team recorded a lower xG than its opponent in both games but used its chances more efficiently.

The win over Valencia also demonstrated Betis’ depth. Pellegrini made five second-half substitutions, and two players off the bench combined for the winning goal. Fran Garcia provided the assist, and Pablo Garcia scored in the 83rd minute. After the match, the manager said the squad was “on the right track,” although the team still needs a few targeted additions. Recovery will be the main concern ahead of the trip to Levante. Betis will play its third match in eight days and its second consecutive road game, so squad freshness could be an important factor.

Levante vs Betis Predicted Lineup

Unavailable: Primo (injury)

Manager: Luis Castro

Betis (4-2-3-1): Valles; Bellerin, Bartra, Natan, F. Garcia; Bernal, Roca; Antony, Fornals, Riquelme; Hernandez

Unavailable: Abde, Lo Celso, Conde, Morante, Petit, Ruibal (all injured)

Manager: Manuel Pellegrini

Levante vs Betis Prediction: Betis to Win

Main prediction: Levante has failed to score in two matches and has registered only one shot on target. It now faces a Betis team that opened the season with two clean sheets and has made few serious defensive mistakes. The visitors also have a clear advantage in attack. Pellegrini’s side found second-half winners in both league games and can increase the pressure through its substitutions. Even if the match is close, Betis has more options to convert a chance and protect a lead. The pick is Betis to win at odds of 2.17.

Totals prediction: Both teams have created little in the opening rounds. Betis recorded 1.95 xG across two matches, while Levante produced 1.56. The visitors have been more clinical with their limited opportunities and more reliable defensively. Both of Pellegrini’s La Liga wins ended 1-0. Betis’ demanding schedule could also keep the tempo low, as this will be its third match in eight days. Given the limited quality of the chances created and Betis’ defensive record, the pick is under 2.5 goals at odds of 1.87.
