Juventus Turin vs Parma 29 August 2026 Prediction

John Rowland   Prediction by   John Rowland     August 27, 2026

For the second straight year, Juventus will play its first home match of the season against Parma. It is a favorable matchup for the Turin club. Parma has visited Allianz Stadium nine times since it opened in 2011, recording seven defeats and two draws.

Bremer’s Attacking Value

Juventus opened the league campaign with a 1-0 win over newly promoted Frosinone. The Bianconeri controlled most of the match against one of the expected relegation candidates. Only poor finishing prevented a larger margin of victory, as they generated 2.21 xG. Fitness was the main concern. Juventus offered less going forward late in the game and allowed its only dangerous chance, with Frosinone hitting the crossbar.

Set pieces and crosses toward Gleison Bremer could again be an effective option. Parma struggled to defend corners and free kicks last week, while the Brazilian center back scored Juventus’ first goal of the current league season. He also had a brace in the most recent meeting with Parma, a 4-1 win in February. Kenan Yıldız will not be available in the coming months, as an injury has ruled the Turkish winger out for at least three months. That should give 18-year-old Bosnian prospect Kerim Alajbegović an opportunity on his preferred left flank. Juventus signed him from Bayer Leverkusen for €32 million.

Poor Start to the Season

Carlos Cuesta’s second season as Parma manager could be more difficult than his first. Parma switched to a 4-3-2-1 formation but retained its defensive approach. Even at home against a similarly matched Cagliari side, Parma had less possession than its opponent. The strategy did not produce a positive result, with Parma losing 1-0. The front three were isolated from midfield, and the team created little threat even on counterattacks. Parma is unlikely to change its approach against one of the league favorites.

One lineup change appears likely. Adrián Bernabé struggled as one of the two attacking midfielders and should return to his usual central midfield role, replacing the young Abdou Salam Konaté. Ousmane Diallo, signed from Borussia Dortmund, could then join the attacking group. Hans Nicolussi Caviglia is not expected back yet. The Juventus academy graduate remains injured, so Christian Ordóñez, who offers less in the passing game, should again start in the holding midfield role.

Juventus vs Parma Predicted Lineup

Juventus (4-2-3-1): Vicario; Kalulu, Bremer, Kelly, Cambiaso; Locatelli, Douglas Luiz; Conceição, McKennie, Alajbegović; Kolo Muani

Unavailable: Gatti, Yıldız (injured); Ekhator (doubtful)

Manager: Luciano Spalletti

Parma (4-3-2-1): Corvi; Delprato, Troilo, Ndiaye, Valeri; Bernabé, Ordóñez, Keita; Diallo, Lontani; Touré

Unavailable: Nicolussi Caviglia (injured)

Manager: Carlos Cuesta

Juventus vs Parma Prediction: Juventus Handicap -1.5

Main prediction: Parma’s compact defensive approach can trouble many Italian teams, but Juventus has enough quality in settled possession to break it down. Cuesta’s side faced Juventus twice last season and lost both matches. Parma has not improved over the summer. The defense lost leading center back Alessandro Circati, while the attack is without target man Mateo Pellegrino, who was important to the team’s counterattacking play. Juventus continues to create plenty of chances and should record a comfortable win if its finishing is effective. The selection is Juventus -1.5 at odds of 1.68.

Goals prediction: Juventus conceded only once across last season’s two head-to-head meetings, and that goal came from an Andrea Cambiaso own goal. Parma also created little in attack against Cagliari in the opening round. Juventus, meanwhile, has yet to score more than twice in a match this summer. That makes under 2.5 goals at odds of 2.23 another option.
